MEET meredith

As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing and capturing some of life’s most tender and joyful moments. I see stories unfold – stories of love, celebration, and timeless memories. Today, I’m sharing 8 of the most memorable wedding moments of 2023! These are the essence of what makes wedding photography not just a job, but a passion and an art form. I love posed portraits, but one of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is giving couples these images to remember their wedding day, and perhaps see things for the first time they may have missed during the day!

The First Look

One of the most heartfelt moments in any wedding is the first look. Whether it’s when the couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day or when a parent lays eyes on their child dressed in their wedding attire, these moments are brimming with emotion. Capturing this requires anticipation and sensitivity. I position myself to catch the expressions of both individuals, ensuring that I immortalize the joy, surprise, and often tears of happiness that follow.

Candid Bliss

Candid shots are the soul of my wedding photography. These unposed, spontaneous moments – a laugh shared between old friends, a tearful hug from a grandparent, children dancing carefree on the dance floor – these are the snapshots that bring an album to life. I stay alert and move around, always looking for that burst of laughter or a tender glance that encapsulates the joy of the day.

Golden Hour

There’s a magical time just before sunset, known as the golden hour, which offers the most beautiful natural light for romantic and intimate shots of the couple. The way the soft, warm light flatters the couple and creates a dreamlike atmosphere is unmatched. I always encourage couples to take a few moments during this time for some romantic portraits!

The Dance Floor

As the night progresses, the dance floor becomes a place of uninhibited joy. From the first dance to the last, these moments are unpredictable and full of energy. My role is to be in the midst of the action, capturing the fun, the moves, and sometimes the hilarious mishaps that make for great stories.

In the end, wedding photography is more than just taking photos. It’s about telling a story, capturing the essence of the day, and preserving memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Each wedding is unique, and as a photographer, my mission is to showcase the beauty, emotion, and love of each moment.

Here are 8 of the most memorable wedding moments of 2023!

To all the couples planning their special day, remember that your wedding photographs are more than just images – they are timeless memories that you will treasure forever. And for us photographers, each wedding is an opportunity to create art that echoes the beauty of love in its purest form.
