When Irene reached out to me in her initial inquiry and I saw that she and Adam were planning a wedding at The Wilderness Lodge in Summersville, WV, I couldn’t respond to her fast enough. The Wilderness Lodge had been on my bucket list of places to document a wedding for YEARS, and this one was PERFECT! The Wilderness Lodge is located a few minutes outside Summersville, WV on a property with the most spectacular Gauley River views. The Lodge itself is absolutely stunning, but the property views provide endless opportunities for stunning portraits that truly showcase the beauty of West Virginia.
Adam is originally from West Virginia and he and Irene created a day that introduced all of their friends and family to the beauty and culture of West Virginia. The property itself is stunning as are the views, but they also incorporated a menu catered by Fish Hawk Acres that showcased the very best of WV foods including ramps, blackberries, pepperoni rolls, and more.
Irene and Adam ended their wedding day with a relaxed reception that featured the most delicious cake, dancing, a sparkler exit, and cornhole, and they viewed the Perseid Meteor Shower right from the lawn. It was truly a wonderful evening!
I was born and raised in West Virginia so it made my heart happy that they wanted to show all the great things WV has to offer, and they did it in such a beautiful way.
This wedding day was intimate, focused on Adam and Irene, and I am so happy I was able to be there to document it all!
