One of the things I love most about The Ellis House is how bright the getting-ready spaces are. The natural light pouring through the windows created the perfect backdrop for the bride’s details—her classic white gown, jewelry, and blue satin heels. The bridal suite made capturing both flatlays and candid moments easy, and the consistent aesthetic fit beautifully with their black and white palette.
The groom and his groomsmen got ready in the separate lounge area, allowing the couple to enjoy a stress-free morning without risk of crossing paths before their first look.
A Classic First Look on the Grounds
The Ellis House has the perfect mix of manicured lawns and natural greenery, offering multiple options for a private first-look moment. The couple chose a quiet spot near their ceremony location, where soft sunlight filtered through the trees.
This moment was one of my favorites from the day. The groom’s reaction was emotional, genuine, and full of joy—exactly what every bride hopes for. The black and white color palette made the portraits clean, editorial, and timeless.
Ceremony on the Lawn
The lawn at The Ellis House is ideal for outdoor ceremonies, and the couple leaned into minimalist elegance. White florals and a simple arch framed the moment they said “I do.” The stately trees of the venue created a soft, scenic backdrop without overpowering the clean aesthetic.
The soft light that afternoon made everything so glowy and beautiful—a photographer’s dream.
Classic Reception Design
Their reception space inside The Ellis House Structure was a stunning extension of the overall theme. White linens, floral centerpieces, and subtle greenery created a modern, elevated look. The floor to ceiling windows in The Structure allowed the natural, glowy, late-September light to filter in. The natural light coupled with the warm light from the chandeliers gave just enough ambiance without distracting from the neutral palette.
The Ellis House includes a checkered dance floor that always adds a touch of glamour to any reception.

Golden Hour Portraits at The Ellis House
The Ellis House’s outdoor spaces truly shine all the time, but especially at sunset. We stepped outside just before golden hour ended, and the light was unbelievable—soft, warm, and glowing across the property. These portraits are the ones they’ll frame forever.
The bride’s white gown popped beautifully against the natural surroundings, while the groom’s black and white tux created a clean contrast. This venue consistently delivers gorgeous lighting throughout the day, but sunset is always extra special.
