MEET meredith

There’s something extra special about photographing people you love—and Anna is not only a beautiful bride-to-be, she’s also my cousin! Getting to take Anna and Jake’s engagement photos in Southport, NC was such a joy, and I’ll never forget our time together in this charming coastal town capturing this sweet season for Anna and Jake.

Southport is one of North Carolina’s hidden gems, with its peaceful waterfront views, tree-lined streets, and iconic oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. It made the perfect backdrop for Anna and Jake’s session. We wandered through the historic downtown area, captured sweet moments by the marina, and even made our way down to the shoreline just in time for golden hour. The light was soft and dreamy, and the breeze off the water gave the whole session that relaxed, coastal vibe that makes engagement photos in Southport, NC so magical.

Watching Anna and Jake together was such a treat—they laugh easily, love deeply, and clearly have so much fun together. You can feel their connection in every photo. As someone who’s known Anna her whole life, it’s so special to see her with someone who cherishes her the way Jake does.

These two are planning a beautiful wedding for July, and I already know it’s going to be full of love, laughter, and so much joy (and lots of tissues for me). But for now, I’ll be obsessing over their dreamy Southport, NC engagement photos—and feeling extra thankful I got to be a part of this season in their lives.
