I can’t quite put my finger on why, but March felt like the longest month in history. I think in the time of COVID, time just seems to be very strange. I wonder if it’s just me or has it been that way for you too?
I’m thankful that March was relatively quiet. It’s been nice to rest before my busy season starts! My wedding season starts in May, but I have so many fun graduation/senior and engagement sessions coming the next few weeks!
Personal
-
I have two cousins who will graduate from high school this year and I was fortunate to attend senior day at their last home football game! It felt good to just do something normal for the day!
-
I found a really great dupe for the Barefoot Dreams blankets everyone raves about at Sam’s. They are so soft, and I’ve already ordered another one for our house and one for my sister! You can find them HERE.
-
I’ve been rewatching The Vampire Diaries. Guys, it is so bad. hahahahahahaaa!
-
I took two weeks off my social media channels to just rest and it’s been so refreshing. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with social media, mainly based on my own inability to stop scrolling. It was helpful for me to just log out, and I think I may take intentional time off social media every month.

I’m making this cake for my family for Easter dinner! Can’t wait to try it out!

I made it through my first tax season as a full-time small business owner relatively unscathed. HAHAHA! I very much over prepared, but I’m glad I over prepared rather than the opposite.
-
Other than my food photography work, I didn’t have any sessions this month. I’m really looking forward to longer days, glowy sunshine, green trees, and blooming plants when I start sessions again next week! I was grateful for the break, but I’m ready to start creating again!
Reading
-
Gay Girl, Good God by Jackie Hill Perry – I highly recommend this book.
-
The Water Keeper by Charles Martin – Charles Martin does fiction like no one else. He has another book in this series coming out later this year that I can’t wait to read!
-
A Sacred Sorrow by Michael Card – This book is about the spiritual practice of lament. It’s surprisingly easy to read and a helpful resource for anyone who feels like the Lord has forgotten about them.
-
Half the Church by Carolyn Custis James – This may be my favorite book of all time. It has transformed the way I think about biblical womanhood and the role of women in life. I borrowed this from the library and already ordered a copy to have! I’ll be reading this over and over again!
